Thank you for following up. I’d like to clarify the details regarding the accounts and payment methods involved:



My minor child opened two accounts on stake. Being underage, he either used a fabricated name or possibly my name and information to bypass the registration process. Never once was he asked to verify his age or location. As a minor, he did not have the legal capacity to open an account or engage in gambling activities on the platform.



The deposits were made using my Coinbase, Crypto.com, and bitcoin.Com accounts without my knowledge or authorization. Upon discovering the unauthorized transactions, I immediately contacted the platforms but was informed that nothing could be done due to the nature of cryptocurrency transactions.



After changing all my account login information, the unauthorized transactions occurred again. This led me to suspect my child, and when confronted, he confessed to stealing our family’s savings and depositing it onto Stake.com. He admitted he was influenced by streamers he watched, who actively promoted Stake.com. Upon conducting my own research, I discovered that many of these streamers are based in the United States—a region where stakes platform is supposed to restrict access.

Whilst we appreciate your frustration, in this instance there is nothing we can do to assist you. The security of your payment information is your responsibility. When you do not keep that information secure and someone else uses your information, the activity becomes indistinguishable from you playing then saying someone else has used your payment information to look to recover losses.

We understand your points regarding the US and verification, but Stake and many other crypto based gambling operators engage weak licensing, do not ask for address information at registration and engage minimal verification specifically so they can accept US players whilst claiming not to. No action that we could take would result in a refund on these grounds.

All we can suggest is that you ensure that you keep you payment information secure in future.

Thank you for your response. While I understand your position, I feel it is necessary to provide additional clarification and evidence to address your claims and inaccuracies:



I have documented proof confirming I was not in town during the time these transactions occurred, making it impossible for me to have authorized or conducted them. Additionally, I have a notarized affidavit from my son admitting that he was the one who opened and used these accounts.



The transactions in question were unauthorized and initiated by my minor child. Specifically:



My son withdrew funds from my Coinbase and Crypto.com accounts and transferred them to a Bitcoin.com wallet under his control.



He also stole large sums of cash from our family safe, used a Bitcoin ATM to convert the cash, and sent the funds directly to Stake.com or to the Bitcoin.com wallet, which he later used for deposits to Stake.com. That's where the majority of the funds deposited came from.



According to my son, he mistakenly sent a few large transactions from Stake.com to my Crypto.com account and then back to Stake.com on the same day. However, these funds originally came from the Bitcoin.com wallet he controlled. When asked if the accounts where in my name I stated the accounts where the largest deposit had came from the but that wasn't the orignal source of the money.





I acknowledge that piecing together all the details is challenging, as I am dealing with a minor who is both scared of the consequences and may not fully remember every detail of transactions that occurred over 18 months. However, I can provide transaction details from the Stake.com accounts he used. I am unsure if Stake.com can trace the original sources of deposits, but the majority originated from the Bitcoin.com wallet or a Bitcoin ATM.



The funds were ultimately sent to Stake.com in an attempt to obscure their source and avoid detection.



Stake.com’s lack of proper verification allowed my  minor child  to create accounts, deposit substantial sums, and gamble without adequate scrutiny. This failure directly contributed to the unauthorized transactions and highlights a lack of compliance with responsible gaming obligations.



By your own admission, Stake.com and similar operators use weak licensing and minimal verification to allow U.S. players access while claiming otherwise. This negligence enabled the unauthorized use of stakes platform by a minor. Furthermore, Stake.com admitted to closing both accounts due to suspicions of underage gambling, which further supports my claims.



This is not about recovering personal losses but about addressing funds lost due to unauthorized activity facilitated by Stake.com’s insufficient safeguards.



I apologize for any confusion regarding the nature of these transactions and hope this clarification provides a clearer understanding. I trust that you will reconsider your stance and respond promptly.

Sadly we do not have any guidance we can give in this circumstance. We would have directed you to them already if we felt that there were viable options for you to review. The operator in question are registered in a jurisdiction where they are effectively legally untouchable. We are aware of no players who have successfully pursued a claim against a Curacao operator.

Submitter claims that the play in question was undertaking by their child. However, the funds in question were deposited from the submitter's payment account. You are responsible for keeping your payment account information secure. Where someone uses your payment account without authorisation, this is an issue of fraud and needs to be directed to the police/payment provider.

I am submitting this complaint against Stake.com for gross negligence, unethical behavior, and failure to respond to repeated communication regarding a serious issue involving my minor child. Below is a detailed account of the situation. My underage child was able to open and operate two accounts on Stake.com, a platform that claims to have strict age-verification protocols. Despite being underage and in a restricted region (the United States), my child deposited over $1.1 million and wagered over $39 million through these accounts. I have contacted Stake.com’s compliance team numerous times to address this issue. Despite submitting a signed Power of Attorney, as requested, all my emails have gone unanswered. This lack of response is unacceptable for a company claiming to operate ethically.Stake.com’s behavior demonstrates a blatant disregard for its legal and ethical responsibilities. I am submitting this complaint to hold them accountable and warn others about their lack of safeguards and unresponsiveness.I urge Casino Reviews to investigate this matter and highlight the dangers posed by Stake.com’s failure to protect its users. Also help in refunding the deposits made by my underage kid as all bets placed by him should be voided by law,yet stake is keeping these funds which justifies unjust enrichment and fraud also violates AML. I have been trying to contact stake for months and they ignore every email they replied once denying my request for a refund stating that my kid agreed to their TOS so they are not responsible. Regardless of their TOS a minor can't enter into any contractual agreements especially gambling. I even have emails from support stating that they don't verify a user's age at sign up they will only verify the age of a user if the user wants to submit documents but stake for 2 years never once tried to verify my kids age or location or where the large deposits where originating from. I will provide deposit proof upon request and all communication attempts upon request as there are far to many.
